隨機水塔油漆創作 Water Tank Painting by requested
於2021 年在澳洲南邊塔斯馬尼亞小島的北部城市Squeaking Point短居時，當地很偏僻，在澳洲移動很多個地方，我都在當地找材料創作繪畫，所以我在那裏靠海的別墅剪了許多石頭回來畫畫，意外房東看了很喜歡，所以邀請我把房子外的大水塔外牆塗鴉，他希望有一點東方風味的風景畫，因為油漆不便宜所以我盡量不使用過多的顏色而簡單如我卻又能在叢中吸引路過車輛的目光，我記得一開始非常艱辛，因為矮叢雜草長到腰部，我與當時的男友花了一整天移除並修整這些植物挪出一個放梯子移動的空間創作，是順邊幫房東整理了這塊地，這裡時不時常下雨，出太陽也很曝曬又無法戴墨鏡彩繪，天氣是最難駕馭的部分，所以我當時的男友必須在旁邊協助拿材料,換水,一梯子等等，讓他的名字也一起留在上頭，但他並未負責創作這部分。我們花了兩個多禮拜完成，這位澳洲房東非常開心! 他的airbnb房變得很顯眼外，我們也玩得非常開心，竟然意外能有這種互動，這就是創作的能量。不知道還有沒有機會再回去，但是至少留下了美好。
In 2021, while briefly staying in the northern city Squeaking Point of the island Tasmania, Australia, I found myself in a very remote area. Throughout my travels across different places in Australia, I always sought local materials to create artwork. During my stay there, I collected stones from the sea in front of the villa house to paint on.
Unexpectedly, the houseowner saw my work and really liked it. He then invited me to paint a mural on the large outdoor water tank of his house. He hoped for a landscape painting with a touch of Eastern influence. Since paint was expensive, I tried to use as few colors as possible while still making the artwork simple yet eye-catching enough to attract the attention of passing vehicles.
At the beginning, the process was very challenging. The surrounding shrubs and weeds were waist-high, so my boyfriend at the time and I spent an entire day clearing and trimming the plants to make space for the ladder and ensure mobility for painting. In a way, we also helped the houseowner tidy up that area.
The weather was the hardest part to deal with—it rained frequently, and when the sun was out, it was extremely harsh. Wearing sunglasses while painting wasn’t an option. The boyfriend assisted me throughout, helping with materials, fetching water, and adjusting the ladder. That’s why his name was also included on the artwork, though he wasn’t responsible for the creative part.
It took us more than two weeks to complete. The Australian houseowner was extremely happy! Not only did his Airbnb property become more eye-catching, but we also had so much fun throughout the process. The unexpected interaction made the experience even more special—that’s the power of creativity. I don’t know if I’ll ever have the chance to return, but at least We left behind something beautiful.
